| Aces Up |
Two pair, a pair of Aces and any other pair. |
| All Blue |
Flush containing either clubs or spades. |
| All In |
Putting all your chips into the pot during the course of a hand. |
| All Pink |
Flush containing either diamonds or hearts. |
| Big Blind |
Largest blind in a game, equals amount of the minimum bet. |
| Blinds |
Required bets made before any cards are dealt. |
| Bottom Pair |
Pairing the lowest of the community cards. |
| Burn |
To discard the top card from the deck face down. It is security against any player recognising or glimpsing the next card. |
| Button |
A player who is in the designated dealer position. |
| Call |
Match the bet made by the previous player. |
| Check |
To waive the right to start the betting in a round, but retain the right to act if another player starts the betting. |
| Community Cards |
The cards dealt face up in the centre of the table can be used by all players to form their best hand. |
| Drawing Dead |
Drawing a hand that cannot win because somebody holds a hand that will beat it. |
| Flop |
First three face-up community cards. |
| Fold |
To throw a hand away. |
| Heads-Up |
Only two players involved in the poker game. |
| Kicker |
The highest card in your hand that doesn't make a pair. |
| Limp-In |
To call another players bet with a weak hand. |
| Nuts |
The best possible hand. |
| Pocket |
Two cards dealt face down to each cards player. |
| Pot |
Chips or money being played for. |
| Rags |
Cards not worth playing, |
| Raise |
Increase the bet made by the previous player. |
| River |
Fifth face up community card |
| Small Blind |
Smallest blind in a game, equals half the amount of the minimum bet. |
| Showdown |
Determining the winner of the pot after all betting has been completed. |
| Turn |
Fourth face up community card. |
